A Brief History of the Club
The Club was formed in the 1930's by the employees of the Luton Vauxhall Motors car plant.
The large canteen made the ideal location for the club which regularly held tournaments.
Since the closure of the Vauxhall Car plant in the late 1990's the club was forced to relocate
after the canteen was demolished. Soon after the Vauxhall Recreation Centre was opened
and the club moved in.
Senior Club
We currently have 60 members, with a 60/40 split between male and female players. Ranging from an intermediate level to experienced across a wide age range. The club also places up to 13 teams in local leagues.
At the end of each season we also run handicapped club championships for members to compete at singles, doubles and mixed competitions.
Winter season
The badminton season runs from September to May. Visitors are permitted to attend for one session and will be informed at the end of the evening whether they can return for a following two weeks before a membership application can be made if a place is available.

Adults £5
Under 18 / Students (U21) £3
Membership Fees; (pro rata for joining after 1st November)
Adults £100
Students U21 £75
Under 18 £50
Visitors fees are fully refunded or deducted from membership upon joining.
Summer Club
From June to August we run a summer club to offer play all year round. The club runs as normal on Tuesday evenings from 7-10pm.
Summer Visitors Fees;
Adults £5
Students (U21), £4
Under 18's, £3
Members offer - £30 for the whole 11 week period.
Vauxhall Misfits
We also run a development club which offers coaching, games and matches for beginners and intermediate players ages 16+. Sessions run on a Sunday morning 10-12pm at the Vauxhall Recreation Centre. Please E-mail vauxhallbc@hotmail.co.uk or see the misfits page for more information.

Despite the decline in the number clubs over the past decade Vauxhall has gone from strength to strength with two junior clubs and a adult beginners club now encouraging players into the league club.
We are a friendly but still competitive club who play at the Vauxhall Recreation Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire, on Tuesday nights from 7-10pm, with 4 courts at our disposal.
The leisure centre is felt to be the best in the County, with an excellent sports hall, changing facilities and large on site bar.
New members are welcome all year round, unfortunately we do not accept beginners to the Tuesday club. If you are a beginner or don't feel up to league level please see the Vauxhall Misfits section below.
